DAVEMattacott (17 handicap) had 44 stableford points to walk away with the Dolphin Day shirt and the major voucher for the round last Thursday at The Island Golf Course.
Runner-up was Mark McFaul (17) with a round of 40 points. Following on from a bad last round, Denys Tobin (12) redeemed himself with a score of 38 points to round out the division 1 group.
Division 2 winner was Les Mohr (25) after carding a score of 41. Runner up for the division was Scott Burley (25) with 40 points.
Pins went to Johnny Walker, Paddy Byrne, Don Wills, Greg Smith, Henny Oldenhove took out the pizza hole while Peter Morriss took home the money shot at the 18th. Ball rundown for the round went to 34 points with only two to get the spoil,s Kel McGoldrick and Kevin Mulhall.
Saturday’s golf was the final round of the men’s championships with the day’s play going to Bruce Berry (4) 72 nett followed by Stuart Johnston on75 (he bettered Eddy Penrose, Nathan Smith, Paul Ryanand Michael Bennett in a countback).
B grade winner for the day was Peter Bush with 72.John Slade took the runner up voucher with a score of 70 nett. The lower grade winner was Noel Gaddes 70, on countback with Keith Elphick.
For the stableford score, Ted Beaton once again showed out with 39 points with David Winton 34 points in the runner-up spot. InB grade Uri Ylinen carded 40 points and Peter Morriss 35. The lower grade went to Kerry McCoy with 35 points on a countback with Chris Tinson .
Overall club champion is Nathan Smith (1) with a fourround score of 301.Bruce Berry (3) was runner up on 306. B grade winner was Trevor Peter (14) who tallied 352,with Jason Belt (14) just threestrokes adrift. In the lower grade Keith Elphick (21) surprised all for a come from behind win with a total of 379, one ahead ofChris Tinson (21) 380.
Nett winners:A grade Steven Cumming (11) 287, one ahead of Graham Weary (11). InB grade, John Slade (17) held on to his lead with a total of 294 and Michael Nugent (16) was next on300. In the lower grade, Noel Gaddes (29) took out the nett with a final score of 277. Following was Mark Cooney (24) on 289.
